2025/26 league season
Hertfordshire Inter-Club Pickleball League 2025/26
The 2025/26 season (November 2025 – June 2026) will again feature three divisions, but with some exciting changes:
Division 1: 7 teams, continuing as before.
Divisions 2 & 3: 8–9 teams each, playing at central venues (Hatfield and Batchwood) on pre-scheduled dates.
This should make fixture organisation smoother, though availability of players will remain key. BaD will enter one team in Division 1 and one in Division 2.
Herts Senior League 2025/2026
A new Herts Senior League (for players aged 60+) launches this season, with one team per club and seven clubs participating. Matches will preferably be played midweek, helping to ease weekend court congestion. This new league promises to be a great way to keep our senior players active, competitive, and connected.
South East (North) Pickleball League (SEnPL) 2025/2026
The inaugural SEnPL (one of seven official English Pickleball regional leagues) begins in November 2025. Covering Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Oxfordshire, and North London, the league will run across seven rounds from November to May at Halton Tennis Centre in Buckinghamshire.
The plan is to run 6 divisions of 4 teams. All divisions will play a round of 3 matches on the same predetermined dates. Matches will comprise 1 x women’s, 1 x men’s and 2 x mixed doubles. Games will use rally scoring to 21 points. Promotion and relegation will occur after each round.
BaD is delighted to announce a joint team with Hoddesdon, “Team Fusion”.
Our 2nd team kicked off the Division 2 season with a local derby against HTC – always a competitive, good natured fixture!

Herts Inter-Club Pickleball League 2025
The 2025 season was another exciting and successful year for BaD Pickleball Club, reflecting both the continued growth of the Hertfordshire Inter-Club League and the enthusiasm of our members. The league expanded from two to three divisions for the first time, running from January to July. BaD proudly entered three teams, giving more members than ever the opportunity to represent the club in competitive play.
The standard of play across the league rose noticeably compared to the previous year, and we can expect it to improve further in the upcoming 2025/26 season.
The scoring system remained for the season was 5 points for a win, 2 for a draw, and 1 point for every six games won.
BaD A Team
BaD A competed in Division 1, which consisted of eight strong teams. SHARP A claimed the title ahead of last year’s champions, West Herts A, while BaD A secured an impressive 5th place – a commendable result, especially given that it did not benefit from any walkovers (see below).

Despite some challenges with fixture scheduling and communication (a recurring theme across certain clubs), BaD A successfully completed all matches. Unfortunately, three fixtures involving Spicy Pb were not played (providing 9-0 points walkovers for Cambridge A and Hoddesdon A), slightly distorting the final standings. Nevertheless, our A team’s consistent effort was exemplary – well done to all players involved.
BaD B Team
Our BaD B squad competed in Division 2 (six teams) and was the most organised team across all divisions thanks to the excellent leadership of our captain. It was the first team to complete all its fixtures in any of the divisions and delivered several competitive performances, scoring points in four of its five matches.
A highlight was their nail-biting 17–15 victory over Cambridge B, demonstrating determination and teamwork. The B team also coped admirably with player availability challenges, with some C team members stepping up to help fill in.

BaD C Team
The C team played in the newly formed Division 3 (of 6 teams) which provided a fantastic opportunity to expand competitive play. Although the division proved challenging, with several strong new teams entering the league, BaD C showed resilience and earned two hard-fought points.

Thanks go to our team captain for his perseverance, especially given fixture scheduling difficulties and limited court availability. Every match played was a valuable learning experience and testament to the team’s commitment
A heartfelt thank you to all BaD players, captains, vice-captains, scorers, refreshment providers, drivers, and supporters. Your energy and dedication make our club what it is – friendly, organised, and full of team spirit
